Family Therapy

When things at home aren't working, it can be hard to know what to do next. Maybe you're worried about your child, exhausted by family conflict, feeling more like roommates than partners, or wondering how two people who once felt close now feel like strangers. Therapy can help make sense of what's happening and support meaningful change.

Child, Youth, & Relationship Therapy

I work with children, teens, couples, and families who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do next.

Things at home may feel tense, repetitive, or harder to manage than expected. Maybe you're worried about your child, exhausted by the same arguments, living more like roommates than partners, struggling to rebuild trust, or wondering how relationships that once felt close now feel distant and disconnected.

My approach is practical and structured. Together, we focus on understanding what's happening, identifying the patterns that may be keeping things stuck, and finding realistic ways to move forward. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a clear plan, practical guidance, and support that feels grounded in real life.

Therapy looks different for every person and family. This might include working individually with your child or teen, supporting you as a parent, helping couples navigate difficult seasons in their relationship, or bringing family members together when it makes sense. The goal is to reduce stress, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change that lasts beyond the therapy room.

How I Help

  • Understanding patterns beneath behaviour and reactions

  • Supporting parents with real, in-the-moment strategies

  • Helping kids and teens make sense of what they're feeling

  • Working through conflict and communication challenges

  • Helping couples rebuild trust and reconnect after difficult seasons

  • Supporting families who feel stuck or out of options

Court-Involved & Reconciliation Work

I also have experience supporting children and families involved in family and criminal court matters, as well as those navigating reconnection, reunification, or family reconciliation.

This work is approached carefully and thoughtfully, with a focus on safe, realistic progress. I am familiar with collaborating alongside lawyers and other professionals when needed, while maintaining clear boundaries and a neutral therapeutic role.

What Working Together Looks Like

A steady space when things feel hard

People often reach out when relationships feel tense, repetitive, or harder to manage than they used to. Sessions provide a calm, structured space to slow things down, make sense of what's happening, and begin moving forward.

Clarity when you're not sure what to do next

Sometimes people have tried everything they can think of and still feel stuck. Therapy isn't about judgment or quick fixes. It's about gaining a clearer understanding of what's happening and identifying practical next steps that fit your child, relationship, or family.

Looking beyond what's on the surface

Big emotions, behaviour changes, recurring arguments, and disconnection are often signals that something else is going on underneath. Rather than focusing only on the problem itself, we explore the emotions, experiences, relationships, and patterns that may be contributing to it.

Support through complex situations

Some children, couples, and families are navigating trauma, trust ruptures, court involvement, family conflict, reunification, or strained relationships. This work is approached carefully, with structure, clear boundaries, and realistic expectations for progress.

A practical, real-life approach

The goal is not simply to talk about problems. Sessions are focused on helping people make meaningful changes that carry into everyday life. Parents leave with a better understanding of what's happening, children and teens gain support in ways that feel manageable and age-appropriate, and couples develop new ways of understanding and responding to one another.

Therapy isn't about having all the answers. It's about creating space to better understand what's happening and finding a way forward that feels realistic for you, your relationship, or your family.

The goal isn't perfection. It's helping children, teens, couples, and families feel more connected, more understood, and better equipped to navigate life's challenges together.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially when things aren't working the way you hoped they would.

You don't need to know exactly what kind of support you need before getting in touch. If you're wondering whether therapy might help, have questions about the process, or would like to book a consultation or a session, you're welcome to reach out.
